Subscriptions, refunds and restoring
Findy is free to download and most of it works without paying. This page covers what the subscription adds, and how cancelling, refunds and restoring work — all three go through Apple.
What is free and what Findy Pro adds
Free, with no subscription
- Bluetooth device scanner
- Background item-tracker following detection
- Magnetic-field checks
- The guided inspection checklist
No account, no sign-up.
Findy Pro
- Infrared viewing mode
- Lens-glint finder
- Automatic lens scan
- Network scanner
$39.99 per year in the US. Prices in other regions are set by Apple and shown in the App Store before you buy.
Findy Pro adds tools, not certainty. The camera tools and network scanner have the same limits described everywhere else on this site: they cannot see another network, a powered-off device or a passive microphone. Read the limits before you subscribe.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancel through Apple, not through the app. Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, choose Findy and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also open the App Store, tap your account picture and tap Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the subscription features until the end of the period you have already paid for. We cannot cancel it for you, because the subscription is held by Apple.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Findy from the list.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If Findy does not appear in that list, you may be signed in with a different Apple Account from the one that made the purchase.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled entirely by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, find the Findy purchase and choose the request refund option, or use the receipt Apple emailed you. Apple decides the outcome; we are not part of that decision and cannot issue, speed up or overturn a refund. If your reason is that something in the app does not work, email us as well so the fault can be fixed.
Purchases are processed by Apple, and the money never passes through us in a form we can return. Any developer claiming they can refund an App Store subscription themselves is mistaken.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Findy on the device, go to the paywall or settings and tap Restore Purchases, while signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase. Because Findy has no account system, your subscription is tied to your Apple Account rather than to a login with us. If the restore fails, check that you are signed in with the correct Apple Account and that the subscription is still listed under Settings, then Subscriptions.
| Situation | What to check |
|---|---|
| New iPhone, features missing | Sign in with the Apple Account that bought the subscription, then tap Restore Purchases. |
| Restore reports nothing to restore | Look under Settings, then Subscriptions. If Findy is not listed there, the purchase is on another Apple Account. |
| Family member bought it | Subscriptions are only shared if Family Sharing is enabled for that purchase in the buyer's settings. |
| Subscription expired | A cancelled or lapsed subscription cannot be restored — it has to be purchased again. |
Billing and privacy
The paywall in Findy is rendered using Superwall, which together with Lottie for animations is one of only two third-party components in the app. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporting and no session replay, and there is no account for us to hold. Your payment details are handled by Apple and never reach us. Read the privacy page.
To remove the app's data, delete the app — scan history is stored on the device. More on data deletion. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; cancel it separately using the steps above.
Still stuck on billing?
Apple handles cancellations and refunds, but if something in the app itself is wrong, tell us and it can be fixed.
