Changelog
What changed in each release of Findy, newest first. Detection methods, result wording and labels change as we test them, so it is worth knowing which build you are running.
Releases before version 2.3 are not documented here yet. We would rather leave the earlier history blank than reconstruct it from memory.
Version 2.4
Submitted for review 23 July 2026
- Rewrote when the app asks for an App Store rating. The prompt now appears after a completed, clean scan rather than on launch, so it interrupts nothing and only appears once you have actually used the app.
- Added a permanent Rate Findy option in Settings, so the rating prompt no longer needs to find you — you can leave a review whenever you choose.
- Keyword and store-listing refinements for German and Korean.
Not yet available — this entry will be updated when Apple approves the build. No detection method changed in this release.
Version 2.3
Released 3 July 2026
- New: the network scan now actively probes the Wi-Fi you are joined to for IP cameras and recorders by the ports they commonly use, rather than only listing devices that announce themselves. Devices that stay quiet on the network can now still be surfaced — though only if they are on the network you are connected to, and only if the network does not isolate clients from one another.
- New: an alert when an unknown device joins a network you have scanned before. A new arrival is worth checking, not proof of anything; ordinary devices join and leave networks constantly.
- Improved infrared and lens-reflection scanning.
- Performance fixes.
